INFORMATION REGARDING COPYRIGHT, CONTRACTS AND COPYRIGHT SOCIETY'S
As a music tutor I do need to consider copyright in different ways to a session musician or someone doing a self-release. I will have to consider the copyright of sheet music I use to teach and how I distribute it among as the mechanical copyright of the music be respected. For information regarding this I used the websites PRS and PPL, these two linked organisations pay musicians when there copyrighted material is used and enforce the protection of musical copyright. There websites can be found here;
As I continue If the business becomes more successful, I can introduce the use of a contract. This would grantee my payment and service and help maintain a steady stream of income. I have done research on contracts for different types of musicians using the musician's union a group dedicated to ensuring the jobs of musicians in the UK and maintaining fair treatment and compensation for their work. There website can be found here,
